Thank you everyone that came by my blog and entered into my contest. I am just overwhelmed by the number of entries! I never could have hoped to get so many, and with it so many new quilting buddies. The winner was drawn by random generated number and the winner is….

Kimberly Cassie!
Congratulations Kimberly. I hope you enjoy your new fabric!

I have really enjoyed participating in this give-away, and I hope that I will be able to do them more often. For now, I must go finish my homework for school (so much homework!) so I can have all weekend to work on my current quilt project! Anyone remember this from last year?

It is starting to look more like this! ^_^

I cant wait to get back to it! Happy sewing everyone!

After a long (waaay too long) absence, I am back! We are fully moved and settled, and have been adjusting to life in a small town. There is a wonderful quilt shop down from our home Lone Star Quiltworks that has really got me back on track sewing. I have several projects going on right now for the holidays, and as they come further together I will share them with you. My mother’s birthday was a few weeks ago, my twin sister and I made this scrappy table runner for her out of reds and cream.

It was a fairly simple design that looks very busy and detailed without tons and tons of work. We used “Quilt-as-you-go” for the blocks and sashing so it has a really nice clean look on the top as well. Hand sewn binding around in a matching maroon color really helped finish it nicely.

(did you notice lots of dresden scraps in there? ;))

And just for fun, here is the basket quilt that is under that one, origin unknown, I believe it is from Macy’s, we have had it for many years.

To finish on for now, I am working on a purely hand sewn clam shell quilt that I feel is going to take me an eternity… 😛 but is so much fun to be making. Sitting on the couch with a nice blanket and the heater on scrunching and appliqueing is a great way to be spending these cold nights we have been having here in Texas.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Ginger Quilts! I hope everyone has a great holiday season and happy quilting ^_^
